James Noble, age 81, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, February 17, 2013.
He was born in Soperton, Georgia on May 6, 1931.
With a lifelong wish to travel, he enlisted in the U.S. Army
. His journeys took him to Seoul Korea where he met his wife Chom Soon, then moved his new wife and daughter to the other side of the world to Germany and added a son to the family. During his twenty three years in the Army, James was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Combat Medical badge for his service in the Vietnam war
After retiring from the Army he worked the next thirty years at the Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans' Hospital before retiring yet again.
James is survived by his loving wife Chom Soon Noble, his daughter Rita (Patrick) Wilson, son Brian (Annette) Noble, and grandchildren Geoffrey, Stephen, Midori, and Callie Wilson, and Adrian (A.J.) Noble.
He is survived by his sisters Mary Ann Gillis, Ronella R. Moore, and his brother Johnny Noble Jr. James was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Noble and his sister Betty Wadley. James also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
The visitation and celebration of his life will be held at Funeral Caring, 2621 Moss Rock, San Antonio, Texas, 78230 from 1 p.m. To 4 p.m. A private interment at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery will follow on Wednesday, February 27, 2013.
