J.D. Whitlock

J.D. Whitlock went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 7, 2013. J.D. was born in Pearsall, Texas on July 7, 1923. J.D. graduated from Somerset High School in May of 1942. He enlisted into the United States Marine Corps in July of 1942 and served throughout the Pacific Front before his honorable discharge in 1946. Later that same year, J.D. married the love of his life, Betty Evins. J.D. retired from Foremost Dairies after a dedicated 40 year career. After his retirement from the dairy, he drove new vehicles round trip for several auto dealerships in San Antonio. J.D. is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Evins Whitlock; two children, Greg Whitlock and wife Judy, and Grady Whitlock and wife Cynthia; granddaughter, Jennifer Duffield; and grandson, Jonathan Whitlock; brothers, Newton Whitlock and William Whitlock; two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Rainbolt and Cody Roach; and several nieces and nephews. J.D. and Betty have been lifelong members at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. J.D. was also a lifelong member of the Harlendale Masonic Lodge and a member of the Eastern Star. J.D. loved to hunt and spend time with the guys at the deer camp he leased in Pearsall, Texas. One of the greatest joys in his life was his grandkids and great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
