John Pierce

John Eugene Pierce passed away at the age of 66, on June 17th 2013, due to multiple health issues. John was married to wife Cassandra "Sue" Pierce for 46 years. They moved to San Antonio from Southern California in 2012, to retire near their son and his family. John is survived by two daughters, Lisa and Teresa; and a son, John Gavin. He is also survived by six grandsons; David, Michael, John, Charles, Eugene and John Robert.
John served in the U.S. Army at the height of the Vietnam War, and was a crew chief in the helicopter division. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Heroism, flying over 24 missions recovering ground forces from hot landing zones. He also worked in the aircraft industry for more than 25 years, and retired from The Boeing Company.
John was a positive role model to friends and family. He displayed a high work ethic, and a strong belief in the importance of God and family. He and his family were proud members of Faith Baptist Church in Wildomar, California for over 20 years. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His love for others, sense of humor, and compassionate nature will be sorely missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on July 15th at 2pm.
