Juan Alfaro, 74, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Juan was born in Brackettville, Texas, on June 12, 1938. He is survived by Linda, his loving wife of 47 years. He was blessed with daughter, Christina Alfaro Hernandez and her husband, Jesse; daughter, Lisa Alfaro and husband, Joe Garcia; and his only son, John Anthony Alfaro, Jr. He also has 4 granddaughters, JoAnn, Crystal, & Linda Garcia & Mia M. Hernandez; as well as many brothers, sisters & their extended families. Juan was the 9th of 15 children. He is preceded in death by his father, Albert Alfaro, and his mother, Victoria "Granny" Murrillo. Johnny served in the U.S. Army
during the 1960s, and was awarded as a Sharpshooter & a Marksman. He retired after 26 years of service from Borden's Dairy Company. He will be remembered for his sense of humor & great advice. His favorite saying "It is what it is," is how he survived all his life. He is deeply missed but will never be far from our hearts. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Procession departs funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013, for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors. Services under the direction of Castillo Mission Funeral Home.
