Karin Lynn Crew Tebrugge

Karin Lynn Crew was born in Moline, Il. to Jack and Lillian Crew on March 2, 1945. After graduating from Moline High School in 1963, she attended the University of Iowa
and received her bachelor degree in Pharmacy. Karin met Al Tebrugge while studying in a class together. They fell in love and were married on August 27, 1966. After graduating, Karin and Al were posted to Sitka, AK. with the Public Health Service. There they were blessed with 2 children, Bradley Christopher and Devon Michelle. Following their tour in Alaska, they had a brief stint in Bloomington, Il. before the Lord transplanted them to San Antonio,41 years ago. After a few part time pharmacy positions, Karin passionately began her second career in real estate. She started working for Flournoy Real Estate until she moved to Remax Associates. She served and volunteered on several real estate boards and associations during her distinguished real estate career. During her career, she received numerous awards and honors such as Lifetime Achieve Award, Re/Max True Grit Award, and Platinum Top 50 Award winner numerous times. Karin was a consistent producer, CRS and ABR member, 5 Star Texas Monthly member,and appeared in the SA Business Journal several times. She loved working with each of her San Antonio clients and ensured they found the best home for their family. Over the years, many of her clients became close, personal friends.
Karin was an active member of Wayside Evangelical Church where she applied her experience as a realtor to assist the church where she served on the building committee. She also attended Bible Study Fellowship classes for many years where she professed her faith in Jesus Christ. Karin exemplified her favorite verse throughout her life: "The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deuteronomy 31: 8. Karin lived life abundantly and embraced extensive world travel, gardening, running, swimming and tennis. Her family will remember her zest for life as she planned amazing family vacations and elaborate "cousin camps" for all her grandchildren. Karin imparted a legacy of faith, compassion and love to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Karin is survived by her husband Al, of 46 years; her mother Lillian Crew; her mother-in-law, Mildred Tebrugge of Bloomington, Il.; her son Brad and his wife Tammy of Olympia, WA, and their three children, Lee Pelton, Madeline and Isabella Tebrugge; and her daughter Devon, and her husband, Doyle Turner of San Antonio, TX, and their four children, Jordin, Jett, Kenan, and Kaleb Turner.
A celebration service will be held at Wayside Chapel, 1705 NW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78213, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013, Karin's birthday, with Pastor Roger Poupart officiating the service. A reception with the family will immediately follow in the fellowship hall.
