Kimble Traeger

Dr. Kimble Traeger, D.M.D.
Dr. Kimble A. Traeger of San Marcos, previously of Seguin, passed away on April 10, 2014, at the age of 93. He was born to Andrew and Katie (Blumberg) Traeger on January 21, 1921, in Seguin, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Billie Traeger, and sister Betsy Weyel. He is survived by sons Kimble B. Traeger and Stephen Traeger and wife Kathy, granddaughter Stacy Traeger, sister Elizabeth "Tudy" Ryan, and brother Bobby Traeger.
Upon his military retirement (USN-Captain), Kimble joined the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center where he served in various capacities including Oral Surgery Clinic Director. In 1968, he and his family returned to his hometown of Seguin. In 1972, he joined the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he served as Professor with Tenure, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery until his retirement in 1986. He then began devoting his time to his love of rare books and collectables and opened a retail store in Seguin known as Yesterday's Warehouse. For the past several years he has resided in San Marcos to be near his two sons.
Family will receive friends at Pennington Funeral Home in San Marcos, 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 13, 2014. Interment will be held at Fort Sam Cemetery, San Antonio, on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at 11:00 A.M.
