It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Larry Gerald Waltisperger on November 12, 2012 at his home in Tarply, Texas. Larry was born in San Antonio, Texas to August and Elsie Waltisperger (Formally Elsie R. Hoffmann) on October 19, 1946. Larry married his true love, Cynthia Ann Mitchell_Waltisperger on June 16, 1984 in Utopia, Texas.
Larry went to high school at Holy Cross in San Antonio, and then went on to further his education at Uvalde Junior College, and then what is Southwest Texas State in San Marcos, Texas. Larry worked at Clark High School for 26 years as a Vocational Shop teacher until his retirement. Prior to going into education, Larry served in the Air Force. He was an active member of the PRCA with roping and team roping as his specialties. Larry was a member of Cowboy Church Ministries. Larry has been preceded in his death by his parents, August and Elsie.
Larry is survived by his wife, Cindy Waltisperger, and their son Larry Mitchell Waltisperger. Funeral services were held for Larry at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 17th 2012 at Jones Cemetery in Utopia. The service was conducted by Pastor Keith Shelley of Cowboy Church Ministries. The burial took place at Jones Cemetery.
