Leah Briggs

Leah F. Glass Briggs went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 19, 2014. She was 82, born in Hollywood, Florida on June 24, 1931. Leah is a Christian, a Baptist, and served the Lord, Jesus Christ in many way all of her life. She was a graduate of Macon High School, Macon, Ill., Brackenridge School of Nursing at the University of Texas, Austin, Texas. She worked as a nurse in Houston, Texas, where she met her husband. Their marriage lasted 59 years and 11 months. Leah was an Air Force wife for the next 22 years with her husband, an Air Force officer and hospital administrator.
Leah was a mother to her 5 boys, Walter Craig, David Randolph, Steven Forrest, Paul Anderson, and Richard Lawrence. The marriage also produced 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Leah asked that her obituary tell everyone who reads it how to become a Christian. "For God so loved the World that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. John 3.16 (The Holy Bible, NIV)
Leah became a dedicated Pastor's wife in 1974 when her husband was called by God to be a minister. She served the churches where her husband preached in many ways, culminating in being President of the Women;s Missionary Union of the San Antonio Baptist Association.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, San Antonio, at 10:00AM. T. Don Guthrie and Dr. Lewis Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Tilden, Texas.
