Lowell Lyn

LYN
Lowell L. Lyn peacefully entered into rest on 15 January 2013. He was born to "Tom" and Cerise Lyn in Morant Bay, Jamaica on 8 May 1925. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Elva, Alvado, Ralph and sister Myrtle. He is survived and will be missed by his brother Rudolph; his wife Eleanor; their three children Cerise Cisneros, Dr. Shauna Lyn and Dr. Ian Lyn; sons- in- law Marc and Tom; daughters-in- law Heidi and Elizabeth; grandchildren Cerise Lily, Calysa, Malcolm and Asher; and his nieces, nephews, and cousins. He entered the United States Air Force in 1954, and retired after 25 years of service, earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Air Force and Army Good Conduct Medals, and the Air Force Longevity Service Award. He had tours of duty in Japan, Vietnam, and the Philippines. He held a master's degree in biology and worked in the field of cytotechnology. He held a position as a laboratory supervisor at Humana Hospital until 1990. He delighted in children, family, politics, and home life. He loved to make ceramics and furniture; enjoyed gourmet cooking, renovations, animal husbandry practices to include rabbits, parakeets, pheasants and Koi fish; and had a passion for plants, gardening and using advanced horticultural techniques. He passed after a prolonged illness. A brief memorial service at 1:00PM, followed by a two hour open house, is scheduled for Saturday the 19TH, at his daughter's home. The family is planning a private burial at sea to take place at a later date.
