Merete Wagner, age 72, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 24, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. Merete was born in Birkerød, Denmark and traveled extensively in Europe. While on vacation in Greece with her family, she met her husband. After meeting her parents they were married for over 40 years until his passing in 2001. Merete was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Michael Wagner, Air Force Veteran of Vietnam and Korea; her parents, Theodor and Tove Fredsted and brother, Jørgen Fredsted. Merete is survived by her son, Michael Wagner and his wife, Diana; her daughter, Catherine Dickey and her husband, Michael and grandchildren: Emily, Kirsten and Eric. Her teaching legacy and Viking spirit will forever live in the hearts of her family, friends and students.
