Nelson Wright

WRIGHT
CW3 Nelson H. Wright, USAR Retired, passed away on 19 Nov 2012. Ned/Nellie as his friends called him was born on 28 Aug 38 in Gadsden , Al. He served in the Air Guard, Kelly AFB ,for 25 yrs ;reassigned to the USAR when commissioned as a CW2; retiring as a CW3. Nelson was proud to have worked and/or served the Air Force, Army and Navy. His civil service took him from Kelly AFB, to Fort Sam Houston, to Ft Monroe, VA, Camp Smith, Hi, retiring in San Antonio for Texas was home. His personal time was spent volunteering as a softball/baseball coach/umpire; as a member of the Southwest Officials Assn refereeing HS Football. He was a Harlandale HS Alumni; graduated from Southwest Texas State and was a member of the Highland Hills Masonic Lodge. He was anavid collector of Windberg Prints, loved playing golf and never met a challenge he could not conquer until being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1994. He and Dee fought that challenge for 18 years until complications ended the fight. He is survived by his brother Harry W Wright, his love, soul mate and devoted caregiver Dee Wright, son James Wright, (Therye) of Warrensburg, MO; daughter Tracey Wright-Grabatin (Rob); step-daughter Rebecca Kosub; 6 grandsons Michael (Jenna); Robert (Jennifer); Stephen; Nicholas Wright of Warrensburg; Zachary and Matthew Stuart of San Antonio. 2 great-children Samuel and Madelyn Wright; cousin Grover Dial; plus nieces, nephews, brother/sister-in-law; childhood friends. His home was not complete without pets; he loved his Boxers Tyson & Brandy. SERVICES

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North from 3:00 - 7:00 PM with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Military Honors.
