Lt. Colonel Paul W. Beam USAF, Ret., WWII
veteran, husband and father passed into the mists of history on November 5, 2013 at the age of 90. As a bombardier/navigator in the 466th Bomber Group, 8th Army Air Corps stationed in Attlebridge, England, he flew on bombing runs in a B-24 Liberator. The missions they flew included one over Normandy 6/6/1944, D-Day. "Target was reached and hit at 6 minutes to 6:00" that morning. He was a witness to history and Our American Hero. His wife of 54 years, Margaret (nee Quick) preceded him in death. He is survived by their four children, Paula, Michael, Patrick and Janet; seven grandchildren, Brice, Joel, Kara, Mitchell, Dustin, Brandon and Shanon; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Nicholas, Coby, Billy, Taylor, Emma and Corte.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:00am at the Mausoleum Chapel at Mission Burial Park North, 20900 IH-10 West, San Antonio, TX 78257, with Rev. Bill Shockley officiating. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North with Air Force Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org
