Richard Flores

Richard Abel Flores,82, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013. He was born September 26, 1930 to Juanita Delarosa and Abel Flores in San Antonio, Texas, the oldest of 4 children. He was married to Esperanza Saenz. He joined the Air Force and re-enlisted until his retirement in 1973, after 20 yrs. of service. He attended St. Phillips College where he studied and earned a certificate in Plumbing.
He continued to work as a Plumber in Civil Service at Kelly A.F.B., until his retirement in 1993.
He is preceded in death by his parents Abel and Juanita Flores, brothers; Robert and Daniel Flores, and sister Gloria Segura. He is survived by his wife Esperanza S. Flores, son Richard, his partner Jerry C. Cripe, and daughter Sonya, along with several nieces and nephews.
A good man and provider, a loving husband and father, slow to anger, good natured, with a wonderful and witty sense of humor. He will be missed and remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will begin on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville, Texas. Interment to follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
