Robert Hughes Jr.

Robert Hughes, Jr. entered eternal life on Friday, February 22, 2013 after a short illness. Hughes was born on May 13, 1935 and attended public school graduating in 1953 from Phyllis Wheatley High School. After high school Hughes joined the United States Air Force and stay with the service until he left for the United States Army. While in the Army Hughes was stationed in several countries including Vietnam, Korea and Germany. He was a faithful supporter of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Brenda Littles; Gregory Hughes, Michael Hughes (Cassandra) and Robert Hughes, III; step-sons Larry Scales and Marshall Scales (Wayne) along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Hughes is preceded in death by his wife Izetta Mae Hughes and his brother Porter Hughes
A public viewing with take place Thursday, February 28th from 5:00 - 8:00pm at the Lewis Funeral Home; located at 811 South W.W. White Road. The funeral will take place Friday, March 1st at 10:00am at the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church located at 1319 E Crockett Street. Interment will be at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
