William Clinton Morris age 96 passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at his home in San Antonio. Bill was born on August 30, 1917 in Port Arthur, Texas to Mabel Agnes Flint and Loy Clinton Morris. After graduation from Port Arthur High School, he attended the University of Texas
at Austin, graduating with a B.A. Degree in Liberal Arts. He proudly served 2 years in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant in the Field Artillery, landing in Normandy, D-Day +18, serving in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Following 2 years of service, Bill returned to the University of Texas at Austin and achieved a B.S. in Civil Engineering graduating Phi Beta Kappa. Bill was a retired Professional Engineer with 29 years at Exxon Mobil in Baytown, Texas. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Glenn Clinton Morris, sister, Dorothy Kainer and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Willie Dawson Morris; son, William Clinton Morris, Jr. and his wife, Linda; beloved stepchildren, Joanna McCormick Seamans and David McCormick; he was lovingly known as "Grandpa Bill" to his 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; he is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Swanson; nieces, Barbara Gleason and Jan Swanson; and nephew, Kirk Swanson.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the Fred J. Tips Chapel at Mission Burial Park Dominion North 20900 IH 10 West, San Antonio, TX 78257.
