Wilma Lea Hewgley of San Antonio, Texas died on Friday, January 11, 2013. She was born on March 18, 1925 in Stockdale, Texas to Don and Demi Reding. Wilma was the only child to Don Reding however, she had two half brothers, Albert and Mac and two half sisters, Christine and Ruby. She is preceded in death by her husband Clyde A. Hewgley, and daughter, Jacqueline Anita Hewgley-Wirth and all of her brothers and sisters. Wilma completed high school at the age of 17 and moved to San Antonio, Texas where she met and married her husband of 53 years, Clyde A. Hewgley, Jr. in 1945. Wife of a career Air Force husband, she travelled with him to many areas of the US and several foreign countries. She was a longtime Royal Ridge Garden Homes II resident in San Antonio; a Member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW
Post 8541; supporter of numerous charities, two of special interest - The Foundation for Fighting Blindness and The Humane Society. Wilma and her special friend, Fred Rodriguez, loved to dance. They could be seen dancing two or three times a week at some of the local country western clubs. Tras was one of her favorite places where she had many good friends. She is survived by her son, Donald R. Hewgley; grandchildren, Shanna Hewgley, Brian Hewgley and Michelene Wirth; great-grand children, Nicolas and Claudio Hewgley, Justin and Zachary Hix. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
