Joseph Glod Obituary
CPO Joseph Thomas Glod Sr. passed into his lords hands 21 September, 2010 at age 87. He was born on 7 March, 1923 to Mary Kupiec and Thomas Glod in Utica, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters. He is survived by his loving wife Jean of 64 years; two sons Joseph T. Glod, Jr. Thomas Glod and daughter Patricia Tillman. He also leaves three grandchildren Andrew Glod, granddaughters Leslie Glod, and April Braun, four great grandchildren; Christopher John and Caleb Lane Markgraf, Caiden Thomas Brown and Kathryn Ann Glod, one brother John and several nieces and nephews. Joseph enlisted in the Navy in November 1942 and served in the Pacific area until his discharge in December 1945. He enlisted in the Navy Reserves in 1962 and retired in 1981. Joseph worked in Civil Services at Griffins AFB, N.Y. then transferred to Kelly AFB, TX., until his retirement in April 1976. He served as Commander of Bator Post New York Mills, N.Y. and Audie Murphy American Region Post. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Castle Ridge Mortuary from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00am on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

This was my Grandfather, he was the most loving and giving man. He would help anyone and always picked up every penny he saw and I now know why. Everytime you look at any coin it says In God We Trust and everytime I look at a coin I will remember my Pa. I love you Grandpa.
