Lionel Medina Obituary
Lionel J Medina went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2017. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years JoAnn L Medina, sons David and Christopher Medina. He leaves to mourn, son Lionel E Medina, daughters Debra A Barboza and Margaret R Gonzalez, daughter- in- law Carol Medina (Chris), sister Lottie Myers, 12 Grand and 24 Great-Grandchildren. He retired from Kelly AFB Civil Service after 35 years finishing as a Logistics Management Specialist. He volunteered at his children's schools and also adopted as Dad and Grandpa at BSA and Holy Cross, helping his community at PHY, Reed Little League, and starting the Pop Warner program which is still thriving today. The major role he played was Dad not only to his own, but to many youth that came to play in the leagues. He is lovingly called to many as Grandpa and claimed them as grandkids if they wished.
Visitation Tuesday, January 10, 6p.m.-8p.m. Rosary at 7p.m. St. John Berchmans Church continuing Wednesday, January 11, 9a.m.-10a.m. procession departing 10:30a.m. from Castle Ridge Mortuary. Mass at 11a.m. St. John Berchmans Church interment San Fernando Cemetery No.2.
