Guadalupe Flores Obituary
Guadalupe Flores, age 70, entered into his eternal life on Friday, June 2nd, 2017 in San Antonio, TX. Lupe loved life and people, and had great determination for his family. His favorite pasttimes were bowling, golfing, baseball, going to the beach, camping, and frequenting the Kickapoo Casino. He loved spending his time going to his grandchildrens' plays and sporting events. Lupe was a very generous and honest man. He was the life of the party. Following his graduation from Holy Cross in 1965, he married his high school sweetheart, Virginia Swisher, on June 1st, 1968. They were blessed with 49 years of marriage. Preceded in death by his parents, Emilio & Catarina Flores, sister, Olga Marquez, and son, Christopher Flores. He was "Daddy" to his daughters Melissa Vandeventer, Toni Inouye, & Desiree Flores. And "Pampaw" to his grandchildren, Veda Vandeventer, Patricia Inouye, Thomas Flores, Lauren Inouye, Abcde, Alexas, & Isaac Villarreal, and dog, Rocky Sue. The viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 7th, 2017 from 5pm-9pm, at the Ortiz Mortuary. The following day, Thursday, June 8th, 2017 the rosary will be held at 7pm. Mass is to be held on Friday, June 9th, 2017 at St. John Berchmans, 1147 Cupples Rd. Procession leaving Ortiz Mortuary at 9:15am. The final burial will be held at the San Fernando Cemetary #3 following mass.

We were so sorry to learn of our friend, Lupe's passing. We were schoolmates at St Agnes and we were all like family. He had a joyful spirit and always managed to make everyone laugh with his quick wit. Our prayers are with his entire family.

My heartfelt condolences to all members of the Lupe Flores family! I knew Lupe when both of us attended St.Agnes Catholic and Parochial school on Ruiz St. An everlasting memory I have of him is when he, Robert Fike and others got on stage during our Spring Festival and sang "Mother-in-law" before the crowd. They electrified the crowd with their rendition.RIP Lupe
