Mr. Guy was someone I looked forward to seeing in Meals on Wheels delivery. There were stories from him, and plants and cuttings, smiles, and a spirit that gave me more than I brought to him.
Peace to all who loved him.

Dear Guy Family, I grew up at Wingate (a little younger 77) but I knew Doyle as a Kind and Gentle Christian. I know you will miss him, but can be comforted that he is "In Good Hands". I am Veda's, (Veda and L.C) brother and had close association with all of the Guy Family for many years.

Love,

Dear Guy Family,

I am so sorry to learn of your loss of Doyle. My father, James C. Erwin, always spoke of his uncle Buford Guy, so I expect that he knew Doyle. It is too bad that we lived so close by and never became acquainted. My grandmother was Ivy Erwin. I hope that thinking about the reunion of family that Doyle is experiencing and the good wishes of those that remain will support you for now and always.

Helen and GiGi we are very sorry to hear about Doyle. We loved you all very much and Doyle will be greatly missed. Doyle was one of the kindest people anyone could ever know and loved his plants and garden. I tried to call and I am sure you have been busy. I will try again. Love you both and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My husband and I have been delivering Meals on Wheels to Mr. & Mrs. Guy for about a year and he was such a sweet fellow. He gave me plants that are flourishing on my porch in little jelly jars; I will plant them in his honor. I worry about his wife ... blessings to all the family. - Jan Norris

Doyle was one of the most wonderful and generous souls on this earth and will be greatly missed-Him and Helen raised my son his entire childhood and were wonderful and caring people, they were ALWAYS there for both me and my son. Doyle will live on in our hearts for years to come and never be forgotten.

Dear Guy Family,

Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved. There are never any right words to express how deeply sad I am for the pain your family is enduring at this difficult time.

Although I did not have the honor and pleasure of knowing him, as Chair of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations, I am sincerely thankful for his valiant service in defense of our rights and freedom.

His commitment to family, friends, our community, and to serving our great nation leaves a wonderful legacy. May the love and the wonderful memories you shared with him help you when you need it most. He will never be forgotten, and your family will be remembered in my prayers.

Sincerly,
