Martha Saunders Obituary
Martha Belle Saunders passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 29. 2011 at Town and Country Manor in Boerne Texas. She was born on Nov 3, 1924 in Pink Hill, North Carolina to Jasper and Carrie Smith .
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Saunders of San Antonio and her brother, J. K. Smith of Kinston N.C. She is survived by her brother, Howard Smith of Washington North Carolina and a sister, Mrs. Carolyn Stroud of Pink Hill, North Carolina. She leaves behind her two sons, Charles "Sid " Saunders and his wife Karen of San Antonio and Joe Saunders and his wife Tana of Comfort; three grand children, Charles Douglas Saunders and his wife Tiffani of San Antonio, Jonathan Saunders of Los Angeles, Cherie Saunders of New Braunfels; and one great grandchild, Sidney Saunders of San Antonio. Martha spent her adult life in San Antonio and was a charter member of Grace Presbyterian Church. Entombment will be with her husband at Sunset Memorial Park in a private ceremony and a memorial to be held a later date. In lieu of flowers Martha requested gifts could be made to the Grace Presbyterian Memorial Fund 950 Donaldson Ave, San Antonio, TX 78228. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com

Sid, I was so sorry to hear of Martha Belle's passing. I remember fondly her visits with Mama and me when we were stationed in San Antonio. It was so nice to be near family. May the Lord grant you peace and comfort in your sorrow.
