MCDOUGALL
George Marshall "Barney" McDougall, Sr. born in San Antonio, Texas on July 29, 1930 passed away Friday, February, 28, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Thomas Jefferson High School was Barney's alma mater where is excelled in all sports, especially football which he played from grade school to college. He attended Texas A&M and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was the third generation owner and operator of McDougall Drycleaners in Alamo Heights which is now operated by his children. As a distinguished businessman, Barney served as President of the State of Texas Dry Cleaners Association. He was devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather and a special friend to so many. He will be in our hearts forever. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda; and his parents, George and Bess Sexton McDougall. Barney is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Frances; son, G. Marshall McDougall, Jr. and wife, Janet; daughter, Debra Turner; grandchildren, Patrick Ryan Turner, Travis Gaines Turner, Leslie Frances Turner, Megan Kathleen McDougall and Robert Marshall McDougall; cousins, John Knox and wife, Lillian, Doug Knox, Celesta Torres, Phyllis Sawyer and sister-in-law, Gloria Snyder and husband, Edward of Dallas. Private family services were held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or Boysville.
