January 13, 1925 - February 11, 2017
Alice Castro De Hoyos, 92, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 11th, 2017. She passed away at her home in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born on January 13, 1925 in El Dorado, Texas and raised in Brady, Texas. After graduating from Brady High School she moved to San Antonio to pursue a career in textiles and eventually retired from SACU in the credit department. She spent her final working years as a caretaker for the elderly. She married her husband Jose Eloy De Hoyos in 1958, who preceded her in death this past June. They were married for 58 loving years. Alice was a long time member of St. Mary Magdalen Parish. Every Thursday she attended prayer meetings where she found much spiritual consolation and fellowship. Alice loved music and was often seen playing her guitar and singing amongst family and friends. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Alice is survived by her two sisters Irma (Nena), Evangelina (Nina); her three sons Roland (Cecilia), Gilbert (Esther), Michael (Gina) and six loving grandchildren.

Viewing will be at 1 p.m on Wednesday February 15, 2017, followed by the rosary at 7 p.m. at the Ortiz Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday February 16, 2017 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in San Antonio. Burial will be on Wednesday February 22, 2017 at 10:45a.m. at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
