Andrew V. Cadena went to be with the Lord on February 13, 2013, with his children by his side. Born on January 29, 1940, at the age of 73 years old, he was greeted by his beloved wife Rosie A. Cadena and his parents Andrew C. Cadena and Soledad V. Cadena. He was born in San Antonio, TX and attended Lanier High School. For many years he worked for Holmes Distributing.
He had a great passion for fishing, vacationing with his family, and telling jokes to his friends, family, and neighbors. In his lifetime, he thrived in watching his family grow and cherished the moments his children's accomplishments.
Andrew deeply loved his late wife, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, and many friends. In his later years, he enjoyed helping to care for his grandchildren. Andrew touched many lives with his witty sense of humor, kind heart, and courageous strength. He will always be remembered for his determination, strong will, courage, and kindness. He will live forever in our hearts and minds.
He is survived by his daughter Anna M. Briseno and son-in-law Roger Briseno; Sons: Andrew A. Cadena and daughter-in-law, Mary Alice Cadena, and Edward Cadena and daughter-in-law Lizette Cadena; grandchildren: Amanda Cadena, Brianna Cadena, Andrew A. Cadena, Jr., Roxanne Briseno, Roger Briseno Jr., Nathaniel E. Cadena, Dane A. Cadena; great-grandchildren: Kate Lynn and Tommy Lee. He is also survived by three loving siblings: Soledad Perez, Celia Montalvo, Esperanza Valero, Alex Cadena, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service and rosary will take place Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 5-8pm at Delgado Funeral Home. A mass will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at San Juan De los Lagos Parish and Shrine at 10:00am followed by the burial at San Fernando Cemetery.
