Charles Outterson Bernier Obituary
BERNIER
Charles Outterson Bernier, went to the Lord peacefully on July 7, 2012, at his home in Canyon Lake, Texas. Born on July 19, 1921, in San Antonio, Texas, to George Outterson Bernier and Gertrude (Buckley). At the age of 18 he enlisted in the United States Army Air Force and was promoted to Sergeant just before Pearl Harbor. He ended his military career in 1952 as a Tech Sergeant. He later worked in communications for the Southern Pacific Railroad retiring after 35 years. He came to reside for the past 30 years in a home he built by Canyon lake. Chuck is survived and deeply loved by his wife of 23 years, Edna Bernier, his sister, Katherine Rohlf, son, Richard Charles Bernier (Doris), daughters: Mary Linda Momburger, Diane Bernier Sweat (Don), Annette Bailey, Michelle Perry (Leland), Yvonne Carlson (Don), and Jeanine Born, 10 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren. Services will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Union street in New Braunfels, Texas, on July 16, at 1pm. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions in honor of Chuck may be directed to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
