Doroteo M. "D.M." Salas was born on August 28, 1932 and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the age of 80. "D.M." as most may know him, worked 42 years at Kelly Air Force Base as a Section Chief. He served his country many years ago as an active duty U.S. Marine during the Korean War and as a MSGT in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. There are no words to thank him for his service. The government honored him with many awards and medals; we honor him with our love. D.M. was preceded in death by his parents, Ladislado and Petra Salas and brother-in-law Gibby Hernandez. He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Diana G. Salas; children, Sandra Salinas and husband, Richard; Adriana Salvatierra and husband, Eric; Louis A. Urrabazo and wife, Clarissa; sister, Maria Elena Bautista and husband, Javier; brother-in-law, Felipe Gonzales, Jr. and wife, Nora; sister-in-law, Dalia Hernandez; grandchildren, Sean, Kevin, Kyle, Shannon, and Patrick Salinas, Jason and Brianna Salvatierra and many nephews, nieces, and friends. D.M. Salas will be greatly missed, but will live in our hearts forever. The family wishes to thank the doctors, staff and auxiliary at Main Methodist Hospital. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2013 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough.

Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers include Sean Salinas, Kevin Salinas, Felipe Gonzales, Jr., Gilbert Hernandez, Jr., John Pena, Aaron Jimenez, Pete Martinez, Arthur Lopez, Jr., John McCain, and Jason Salvatierra. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in the name of Doroteo M. Salas to St. Jude Catholic Church, 130 S. San Augustine, San Antonio, TX 78237 or St. Anthony De Padua Catholic Church, 102 Lorenz, San Antonio, TX 78209.
