GISTARO
Edward P. Gistaro beloved husband, father and grandfather went to be with the Lord, July 3, 2012. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to Peter and Eugenia Gistaro who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Gistaro. Ed was a graduate of Regis High School (NY) and a 1957 graduate of Notre Dame University. He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1960. Ed and his family moved to San Antonio in 1973 and eventually became President and CEO of Datapoint Corporation. After leaving Datapoint in 1987 he started Frescala Foods, a pasta manufacturing company. He then became President of Docucon, finally retiring in 1999. Ed loved golf, travel, cooking and most of all being with family and friends. He and his wife Martina recently celebrated 50 years of marriage on November 11, 2011. He is also survived by son, Edward "Ted" Gistaro and wife Christine S.; daughter, Jean Gistaro Matthews and husband Wes; sister-in-law, Elaine Megna; his beloved grandchildren, Erin, Courtney, Tanner, Blake; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, July 6, 2012 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North.
