James Edward Bennett
10/31/1931- 4/16/2011
James E. Bennett passed away at the age of 79 on April 16, 2011 at home. He was born October 31, 1931 in Asheville, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years. He retired from the United States Army after 34 years of service. He also retired from USAA security after 15 years. He loved golf and was a member and officer of several local golf clubs. After his health began to fail he spent time watching sports and westerns. James is survived by daughters, Pollet Shepherd (James) Candler, North Carolina, Wanda Johnson (Stewart) San Antonio and son Harald Bennett, Garland, Texas; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2011 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lewis Funeral Home, 811 South W.W. White Rd., San Antonio, Texas. Funeral service will held on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 12:00 PM from Memorial Missionary Baptist Church 1253 Lombrano Street, San Antonio, Texas. Burial will be at Fort Sam National Cemetery.

Pollet, I am very sorry to hear about your father's death. Since the small Reuters Center cafe is closed, I have had no way to express my condolences to you and your family.
