James Loyd "Jim" Friemann, 76, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at his home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
Jim was born on Saturday, April 4, 1936 in Collinsville, Illinois the son of the late George Francis and Nina Iona (Rednour) Friemann.
Surviving family members include his daughters: Jennifer Laurice Wilson and husband Jeff of Corrales, New Mexico and Marie Kathrine Friemann of Austin, Texas; 2 grandchildren: Eva and Arlo Wilson of Corrales, New Mexico; 2 brothers: George Friemann and wife Thelma of Bunker Hill, Illinois and Jerry Friemann of Collinsville, Illinois; 2 sisters: Evalyn Hook and husband Bill of Collinsville, Illinois and Darlean Sheroky of Belleville, Illinois; many beloved nieces and nephews also survive.
His parents preceded him in death.
Jim graduated from Collinsville High School in 1954, held B.A. and M.B.A. degrees and served as a computer systems analyst in the U.S. Air Force as an Airman and Civil Service employee for 34 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon and the Knights of Columbus Council 2964 in Mt. Vernon. VISITATION/VIEWING: will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home, 1314 Main Street, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864. FUNERAL MASS: will follow at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 115 North 15th Street, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864. Father John Iffert will officiate. INTERMENT: in honor of his wishes he will be cremated and entombment will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri with Full Military Honors. For those who wish, memorials may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon or to St. Mary Catholic School in Mt. Vernon and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
