Jerry Radich Obituary

RADICH
Jerry Radich, of Schertz Texas, went to his last golf game on December 31, 2009 at the age of 53. Jerry passed away suddenly on Thursday morning at his home in Schertz. Jerry was born in Laramie, Wyoming on May 11, 1956 to Bob and Ethel Radich. He was educated in Laramie and received two degrees from the University of Wyoming. He married Kathy McCue on March 8, 1989; they have lived in Schertz for 14 years. He is survived by his wife Kathy their children: Christian, James, and Rayna Radich, and his step son- Matthew Cyr. He is also survived by his mother Ethel Radich, his brother Terry, Sister in law Tammy, and nieces Robin, Sara, and Megan. Jerry was an avid golfer and looked forward to each game. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He took several trips over the years to Colorado to share these activities with his brother Terry and other family and friends. He belonged to a golf club and spent every Saturday in the company of friends. He worked many years with Trisun, where he was a tireless advocate for the elderly and their families. His passion for the game and for his family and friends will be in our memories always.

I can´t believe it has been this many years since Jerry passed away. I can assure his family that he has never been forgotten. Every time people ask me how I got into the social worker business, I credit Jerry. He was one of my early mentors. We still talk about him and remember his work and his laugh and his love of partying, but when it was time to get down and serious, he was there with all the answers. sometimes I´ll see someone who looks like him while I am out shopping or attending a conference, and I do a double take. He will always be with us.

I did not know Jerry very well, however saw him daily at Trisun where my mother would give him ....! He realized it was her illness and not the real person that my mother was. It is always a shock to lose a loved one unexpectedly. None of us knows the hour at which we will be called. Hopefully we will be prepared. Mark 13:36 "You too must keep watch! For you don't know the hour when the Master of the household will return." May the Lord give you and your family PEACE during this very difficult time of loss. Respectfully, Rosie Mendoza daughter of Trisun resident Beatrice E. Rossi. Rest in Peace, Mr. Jerry.

I got to know Jerry with the New Braunfels Golf Association. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Always friendly and willing to help. The news of his passing stunned me, like no other I've experienced. I miss him.

It's always sad when a young man dies, but more devastating when it's your contemporary and friend. Jerry and I shared an office during my first position as a social worker and we remained friends. He was a hard worker, immensely helpful in coordinating the Annual Texas Volunteers' Conference, and always there for me when I needed help with a challenging case. I am still finding it hard to believe. I am also deeply saddened for his family and with the rest of his friends, will miss him very much.

I will deeply miss Jerry, we were on several TRISUN committees over the years. As my fellow social worker we shared the same sense of humor when it came to life as the LTC social worker. We have lost a wonderful person. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Jerry was a hell of a nice guy and a golfing buddy. Last year we went on a golfing trip to New Mexico and roomed together. They say you really never know a person till you live together and break bread together. Knowing Jerry he already belongs to a foursome and is totaling up everyone's score. He will be really missed!
