WINKLER
Joseph James "Joe" Winkler entered into rest on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the age of 96 years. Joe and Katie lived in Bandera for 6 years, he was a 52 year member of The Grand Lodge Order of Hermann Sons, 51 year member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church, spent 4 years with the National Program Civil Conservation Corp., retired after 34 years at Sweeney & Company Grocery Supply. He also loved bowling and fishing. Survivors include loving wife of 73 years Catherine(Katie)Winkler, son and daughter-in-law James and Pat Winkler, daughter, Lois Voigt, Brother and sister-in-law, Benjamin and Marie Winkler, brother-in-law, Jim Shields, sister-in-law, Gladys Hines. Also 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving visitors at 4:00p.m. on Thursday, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Heritage Oaks Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Benedict's Catholic Church on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery.
