Juan S. Tovar, Jr., entered into rest on Monday, December 10, 2012 at the age of 90 years. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II, where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Medals. Juan was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Martinez Tovar; daughter, Mary G. Gonzalez; and son, Edward M. Tovar. He is survived by his children, Josefina M. Hernandez, Juan M. Tovar and wife Debby, Vincent M. Tovar and wife Loretta, Jesse M. Tovar, Mickey M. Cisneros, Jose M. Tovar and wife Martha, Gilbert M. Tovar, and Erlinda M. Trevino; brother, Vicente S. Tovar; sisters, Margarita Lopez and Anita Fernandez; also numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Thursday, December 13th from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will depart the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, December 14th for a 9:00 a.m. mass to be celebrated at St. Leo's Catholic Church.
