Kazumi (Asakami) Battles, age 84 of La Vernia passed away September 30, 2009. She is preceded in death by her parents, Shinichi & Toshie (Yamamoto) Asakami. She is survived by her husband, Millard Battles, children, Kenneth Battles, Roy Battles & wife Patti, Cathy Zotz & husband Willie, Jeff Battles & wife Diane and Melissa Spencer & husband Brent; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will take place Sunday at Finch Funeral Chapel from 5 PM-8 PM. Service Monday, October 5, 2009 10:00 AM Finch Funeral Chapel LaVernia, TX Pastor Bobby Nixon officiating with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX at 1:45 PM.
