Kristine A. Luken, was violently attacked and killed while hiking in a beautiful forested area west of Jerusalem on December 18, 2010. She is survived by her parents Larry and Meg Luken, her brother, Dean Luken (San Antonio), her birth Mother, Jacqueline Luken, and half brother, J. Warren Roberts (California), and her beloved twin sister, Kathleen Alt (Virginia). Dear Larry and Meg...

I cannot imagine the pain of your loss. I did not know Kristine, but from what I understand, she was of the finest of people...kind...understanding...caring.

Please accept my deepest sympathies...you will be in my prayers.

Larry and Meg, I can not begin to tell you how very sorry I am at this horrific event that has entered into your lives. Although I did not know your daughter, I know you and that tells me what a wonderful person she was. I can not even begin to imagine the pain of losing a child. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of your family in your time of sorrow and grief. May the grace of God bring peace and love to you and yours. Donna Gil

Dear Larry,
While words fail at a time like this, I’m sure by now you have come to realize that you are not alone in your grief. It was just two years ago today that we received the phone call that every parent dreads, in which we learned of the untimely death of our oldest son, Patrick. Since then not a day has gone by that his mom and I have not thought about him.
I’m sorry that I never had the pleasure of meeting Kristine. From what I’ve read about her, she was obviously a good, kind and friendly spirit and certainly our world today needs positive, upbeat and happy people like her. How fortunate Kristine was to be doing what she wanted to do in her life and to be content with the direction her life was taking her.
Remembering back some 55 years ago to the time we were in high school, Larry, it would have been impossible to think that similar family tragedies would link us together so many years later. I’m happy that we have been able to reconnect and renew our friendship in recent years. Just know that in this time of your deep personal sorrow, Cheryl and I hold you, Meg and your family in our hearts and thoughts and prayers.
With deepest sympathy,

Patrick Cruciani

My deepest sympathy to Kristine's family. I worked with her and Kathleen several years ago at PRC and they were always filled with so much joy and spirit. She will be missed by many.

Larry I worked with you at Four Seasons Nursing Center, I remember all the stories you told us about your travels and how proud you were of your children. I am sorry to hear about your loss. You have a beautiful family and I pray that with the support and caring of your family and friends that your family may bring you all peace. You were a very special Administrator at FSNC and caring person. I ask God to Bless You and Your Family. (My Mom was Teresa Munguia)
