It is only now that I found out about both, Joe Ed and Mary Alice, with great sorrow and grief. I am a german, whose father was a great friend of the Hely's for years before he passed in 2000. We, my sister and me - together with our families, continued this friendship. The Hely's even visited us in Cologne, Germany in 2001.
I personally was granted with the priviledge to get to know thier daughter - it must have been 1992, I guess.
If any of the family of close to the family is interested in contact and reads this, I'd be proud. My e-mail: [email protected]
Love and God bless all, Joerg

Mary Alice we all have such fond memories of you throughout your many years in St. Louis and particularly your involvement in the Cousins Club. Your presence will be missed and you made the world a far better place (The Lambrechts Family, St. Louis, MO).

Mary Alice, you are the best Aunt that any of us could ever want. You were the most pleasant, kind and gentle of people I have ever met. You set the bar high for all of us to follow, to live a quality life and to be caring for our family and friends and animals. I hope to develop the qualities you tought all of us and to attain the life values you cherished. Thank you for being in our lives and providing us with so much love and understanding . We are all better having been taught by your example.

Dear Mary Alice, I will always treasure the memories I have of you and Uncle Joe. You are a super aunt to all of us and we miss you. I have the snowman you made from scratch and I call him "Snazzy". I think of you whenever I look at the details you lovingly made by hand. I take comfort in the fact that you are with Uncle Joe again. Rest well, Aunt Mary Alice. We love you! Luci
