Mercedes Rangel Obituary
Mercedes Castilleja Rangel passed peacefully into rest on May 2, 2017 among her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mario N. Rangel, parents Pedro and Maria De La Luz Castilleja and brother, Luis Castilleja, Sr.
She is survived her by daughters Annette Sanchez (Hector) and Barbara Silva (Andres) and her sons Anthony (Ida), James Michael and Paul Daniel, brothers Juan (Doris) and Armando Castilleja (JoAnn, deceased) and sisters Olga Castilleja and Consuelo Barrientes, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her.
Visitation will begin Monday, May 8, 2017 at 5:30 P.M. in The Angelus Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 8:30 A.M. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 617 S. Santa Rosa Ave. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Anthony Simon Rangel, Andrew Sanchez and Paul Daniel Rangel; nephews: Luis Castilleja, Jr, Efrain Castilleja, Mark Anthony Castilleja, Roger Barrientes and Abel Barrientes. Family Reception to follow burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. . www.stjude.org
