Nola Maria Aguilar Obituary
Nola Maria Aguilar entered into rest May 11, 2010 in San Antonio at the age of 87. She was born March 15, 1923 in Childress, Texas to the late Elmer & Essie (Langford) Finch. She was a graduate of Abilene High School Class of 1940. She was also a former National Secretary for NARFE-National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She supported the Manhattan Project in 1943 and continued her civil service duties until she retired in 1974 from Kelly AFB, where she worked in civilian personnel and the dispensary. She was preceded in death by her husband Rodolfo Aguilar; mother-in-law Aurora Aguilar. Survivors include her daughter Sara K. "Sally" Aguilar and husband Arturo Mata; son Patrick G. Aguilar & wife Leticia; son Michael D. Heim & wife Carolyn; grandchildren Christopher Heim (Yvonne), Joanna Heim, Analiese Kunert, Jason Walence (Nora), Sarah Aguilar, Michael Aguilar, Daniel Aguilar; great grandchildren Chloe X. Walence, Zachary R. Kunert, Matthew J. Walence; sister Barbara Neimann; nephews Don and Bill Hunt; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 14 followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Scripture service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 15 at Sunset Funeral Home with the committal service to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Battered Women's Shelter, 7911 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
