Quintin H. Ahr, age 86, of La Coste, TX, passed away on August 8, 2011 in San Antonio. He was born on August 24, 1924 in La Coste to the late Julius and Alice Droitcourt Ahr. Quintin was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Charter member and Past Post Commander of the Medina Valley V.F.W. Post #8134. On May 9, 1944 Quintin married Eunice Biediger at Our Lady of Grace Church in La Coste. He served his country in the Navy during WWII aboard aircraft carrier USS Hancock. Quintin was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, C. J. Ahr, Sharmane Lothringer, and Mary Ann Mann. Survivors include his wife, Eunice Ahr of La Coste; children and their spouses, Leroy Ahr of Jacksonville, FL, Lindy and Maureen Ahr of Castroville, Colleen and Jeff Wilton of La Coste, and Lonny and Heather Ahr of Castroville; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Leatrice Ahr of D'Hanis. The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home will be open for visitation on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, 2011 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery with military honors. Memorials may be given in his memory to Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church or Medina Valley V.F.W. Post 8134. Visit www.tondre-guinn.com.
