JOHNSON
Ray Paul Johnson, age 92, formerly of Fair Oaks, passed away on September 24, 2013. He graduated from Harlandale High School, attended A & I University before enlisting in Coast Guard in World War II. He served in North Africa, Sicily, Italy; they took in the 36th Division from Texas, and was in the First wave at Normandy. Later went to the Pacific. He was employed in sales with Pollock paper District for 40 years. Ray loved golf and the Dallas Cowboys. Ray and Kathleen attended three British opens, also played at the old course at St. Andrews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Dorman. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sister, Marjorie Salter; nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Vernon Benson and staff at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, and Sontera Health care and hospice.
