Robert Rodney Moreno, 22, of San Antonio, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2013. He was born November 7, 1990 in San Antonio, Texas. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in 2009 and was currently enrolled at San Antonio College majoring in criminal justice.
Robert was a social, kind, generous and humorous person who enjoyed his hobby of bartering. "I'll buy, sell or trade anything with an engine," was one of his favorite phrases. He loved to play with his new toys for a while until it was time for something better and faster. From time to time he would be seen testing out his little bikes and atvs across the street from his home at Woodlawn Lake. He divided his time among family and friends effortlessly and always did so with a smile. He enjoyed long rides along side his dad who taught him how to ride, fixing things with his grampa, taking his girlfriend on movie dates, eating mom's food, playing Black Ops with his sister, and talking shop with his step dad. He had many other favorite pass times with other family members and friends. Robert would help anyone in any way and did not know the word no. Robert was an organ donor and saved several lives, all here in San Antonio. He will be greatly missed by all of the lives he touched. He will forever live in our hearts and will live on riding all of his favorite toys. If you look close enough, you may even catch him riding the little toy motor bike that was way too small for him right across the street at the lake. We like to think that Heaven is different for all of us, it is all of our favorite things at once. So Robert, our dear little angel, lean it over until your knee rubs the ground, stand on the pedal," let's see what it'll do", stick it in the deepest mud...there will always be a jeep around to pull you out. Redline it 'til it blows. You have a never ending supply of toys, the next faster than the last, enjoy yourself our friend.
Robert is survived by his father: Robert Brown Moreno and step-mother Elizabeth Esparza; mother: Florinda De Los Santos and step father Larry A. Zancketti; and his only little sister Gabrielle Rae Trejo. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Pedro De Los Santos and Florentina De Los Santos; and his paternal grandparents: Roberto Moreno and Barbara Ann Moreno. He is also survived by the love of his life, Amanda Duran as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends. We would like to thank everyone for all of your love and support during this difficult time. We would also like to thank all of the kind staff at University Hospital, especially Jessica Cortez with TOSA. Thank you Jessica for taking care of our angel.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Jefferson United Methodist Church, located at 758 Donaldson, San Antonio, Texas 78201.
