AELVOET
Susan Bippert Aelvoet, age 53, of La Coste, passed away Sept. 17, 2011 in San Antonio. Susan was born March 13, 1958 in Castroville at the Castroville Hospital to the late Reinhart Willliam and Lorine Caroline Braun Bippert. She was a 1976 graduate of the Medina Valley High School and a 1979 graduate of Texas Lutheran College. She worked many years at Castroville State Bank, and also in civil service as an aircraft parts item manager at Kelly A.F.B. She was a church organist at Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting, bird watching, photography, and loved to read. On Sept. 10, 1983 she married James Aelvoet at Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville. Survivors include her loving husband, James Aelvoet; children, Sarah Aelvoet, Laura Aelvoet, and Travis Aelvoet all of La Coste; mother-in-law, Mildred Aelvoet of San Antonio; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marshall and Viola Aelvoet of San Antonio, Cathy and Vince Vance of Blanchard, OK, Jan and Mike Schott of Rio Medina, and John Aelvoet of San Antonio; aunt Gussie Kneupper of Comfort; numerous nieces and nephews. The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home will be open for Visitation on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville. Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Castroville. Memorials may be given in Susan's memory to Medina County Food Pantry. Visit www.tondre-guinn.com

My deepest condolences to Jim and the kids. I had the honor and pleasure of working with Susan at Kelly AFB. She was a great person and friend. She will be missed but now there is an angel watching and protecting her family.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the Aelvoet’s. I had the pleasure of working next to her at Kelly, AFB. She was very helpful to a newbie. Her dedication to her work was impeccable and her great sense of humor made our work environment enjoyable. She will be missed, but not forgotten.
