Veryl Edward Lane went to be with his Heavenly Father on November 21, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on December 16, 1930 in Marshalltown, Iowa. A loving husband of 55 years, a dear father and grandfather, Veryl is survived by his wife Edith Gabler Lane; his daughters, Theresa Field and husband John, and Lydia Chasen and husband Larry; grandchildren, Chris, Kim, and Erin as well as nieces and nephews with their children. He was the only child of Roy C. Lane and Rachel Keller Lane, who preceded him in death. Caring for his family was a priority for Veryl. He was well liked by all and lived his life making others laugh and improved their quality of life using his electronic and mechanical genius. He was active in his church and quick to volunteer for projects. Veryl retired from Southwestern Bell/AT&T after 42 years of service.

The family will be receiving visitors at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North on Monday, November 26 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Veryl's Celebration of Life Service will be on Tuesday, November 27 at 1:00 pm at the Mission Burial Park North Mausoleum Chapel with interment to follow in Mission Burial Park North.
