CALLAHAN
WILLIAM HAYWOOD CALLAHAN

On the morning of June 2, 2013, Bill passed away at Morningside Manor in San Antonio, Texas as a result of complications associated with cancer. Bill was 67 years old. Born in San Angelo, Texas on June 4, 1945, He was the oldest son of Elizabeth Tucker Callahan and Mack Ellis Callahan. Bill had many interesting occupations including serving his country as a Sargent in the Army, a Police Officer in Los Angeles, the owner of a bar in La Junta, and commercial architectural hardware sales. He also enjoyed several hobbies throughout his life that included archery, r/c toys, motor-cross, hang gliders, Ultralight aircrafts and parasailing, before finding his ultimate passion, competition shooting. Bill was an avid competitor and known in the shooting world as "Wild Bill". During the years he practiced archery, he was invited by the Olympic Committee in Colorado Springs to try out for the Olympics. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Mack Callahan. Bill is survived by his wife of 30 years Carol, his sister Kathryn, his brother John, his son Pat, his daughter Kelly, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
