I remember Judge Mallet well from the days when I worked as a law clerk in the federal courthouse in Brownsville in the early 1980's. He was always available to young lawyers to share his wisdom, advice, and knowledge of the law. May he rest in peace.

Dear Mary Bertha and family,
I just learned of the Judge's death today (01-10-2008). I am so saddened. I will miss him. He always had a kind word and positive attitude. I will be sure to tell my father, as I am sure he is unaware also, since he was out of the coutry.
I will keep you in my prayers as you have been and shall remain. Miss you my neighbor!
With much love,

Mrs. Mallet:

I just learned of the Judge's passing yesterday. As you might recall I was Judge's law clerk in 1983-84 in Brownsville. He was my first boss in my first job out of law school and I could not have asked for a better experience. He was kind and compassionate and very patient with a first year lawyer. In the courtroom he always tried to do the right thing. Although we have lost touch through the years, I would not have hesitated to contact him for his wise counsel and advice if it were needed. My prayers are with you and your family.

I am very sorry to hear about Judge Mallet's passing. I am currently out of town and not able to attend services, however my heart and prayers are with you. As you may recall I was his secretary from 1971 -1984. I will always remember him for being a great boss as well as an honorable, kind and compassionate Judge in the courtroom. He also expressed much love for his family.
I considered him not only a boss but a true friend. He will be missed dearly by all whose lives he touched. May God comfort you and give you strength.

Dear Mary Bertha and family

We were saddened this morning when we learned of Bill's passing. He certainly lived a full and rewarding life with a wonderful family. We became acquainted through the Knights of Columbus and the Alhambra....they were all enjoyable days when we lived in Brownsville. At that time I was associated with the First National Bank before moving to San Antonio in 1964.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow.
