Willie served his country for 40 years as a firefighter (20 years in the USAF and 20 years Civil Service at Brooks AFB). During his service in the USAF he served his country in the Vietnam War. During his time in Vietnam, he was awarded the Airman Medal for rescuing a Vietnamese pilot from an overturned airplane that was sinking in the mud. He was also awarded the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal.

His most cherished joy was being surrounded by his friends and family. We will all miss his home cooking, especially his BBQ and enchiladas. He made everyone welcome in his home and always made them feel like family. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs, win or lose he was a dedicated fan. He was always a sharp dresser, his doctors all referred to him as their best dressed patient.

The family would like to thank Dr. Raul Gaona Jr., Dr. Luis Velez, Dr. Jawad Shaikh, Dr. Jaweed Sayeed and Sharawn Lopez from Jordan Home Health for always taking excellent care of our father.
