RITTER
Ronald LeRoy Ritter, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on February 8, 1941 to Joseph E. and Lois I. Ritter in Madison, South Dakota. His home town was Webster, South Dakota where he graduated from Webster High School in 1959. He graduated from the University of South Dakota with a B.A. in 1964; Northern Illinois University with an M.A. in 1966; and the University of Denver with a Ph.D. in 1978. He was the Chief of Audiology at three Army hospitals: Landstuhl Army Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany; Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, California; and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas before establishing his private practice in 1979. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Raymon D. Hall and great-nephew, Kody D. Hughes. Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Ellen R. Ritter; daughter, Laurie M. Ritter; son, Ryan R. Ritter; granddaughter, Zoe E. Burton; sister, Rita L. Hall; brother, Robert L. Ritter and wife Susan; niece, Stacy A. Hughes and husband Kevin; nephew, Robert L. Ritter, Jr. and wife Constance; great nephews, Phoenix, Jacob and Weston; brother, Scott J. Ritter and wife Connie; and nephew, Taylor J. Ritter.
FUNERAL SERVICE
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2014
10:30 A.M.
COLONIAL HILLS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
WITH RECEPTION TO FOLLOW
Rev. Diana K. Phillips and Rev. David Miron will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Starkey Hearing Foundation giving better hearing to people in underdeveloped countries (Website: sotheworldmayhear.org).
