On February 22, 2014, our loving guardian angel was called to heaven at the age of 78. Cesario Leal Benavidez was born on February 25, 1935 in Charco, TX to Felix Benavidez and Refugia Leal. Proudly raised in Brady, TX, he later moved to San Antonio where he met his wife of 30 years, Evangelina, on August 3, 1973. He began his career as a sheep shearer before working as a supervisor for Borden Milk for 22 years, retiring in 1988. He went on to work part-time for Mega Foods and IGA Groceries. In 1990, he began working for Hooters Restaurant, where he worked for almost 20 years, retiring in September 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers & 1 sister; 3 children: Cesar Jr., Tomas, & Tina; and grandson, Cesar III. He is survived by his wife, Eva; 11 children: Angel, Sally (Jimmy), Isabel, Linda, Jimmy, Gina, Hilda (Richard), Irma (Henry), Alex, Sabas (Cynthia), & Genevieve; 1 granddaughter, whom he raised as his own, Kimberly (Luis); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Luciano; and numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation begins Tuesday, February 25th from 5 - 9 p.m., with a Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Delgado Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 26th at 11:30 a.m. with a mass at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, followed by a burial at Mission Park South. He will be dearly missed by his wife and family. "Happy Birthday Grandpa, for this is not goodbye, it's I'll see you later. We love you always."
