On Tuesday, March 4, 2014, Bernice Steubing passed away peacefully at her daughter's home. Bernice was born in San Antonio, Texas, on February 5, 1917, to Joseph V. Bacon and wife, Tea. She lived her entire life on the family dairy farm on DeZavala Rd. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Raymond Steubing, who she married in July 1938. She is survived by son, Garnet Steubing and wife Kenda, daughter Bonnie Lee Pollard and husband James III, grandchildren Kole Ray Steubing and wife Amy, Kelli Anne Steen and husband Kevin, Gregory Vinson Pollard and wife Heather, and great grandchildren Kody Ryan Steen, Konner Ray Steen, Raymond Cade Pollard, Katherine Paige Steubing, Ella Klaire Steubing, and Jack Kooper Steubing and great step grandson Garret Perkins Lesley. She was active in Oxford United Methodist Church, many bowling leagues in San Antonio and the family bunco club. The family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude for the continuous care given to our mother by Delia Casarez and Sally Martinez, and to the Alamo Hospice Care Group of Boerne, Tx. during the final days of our mother's life. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. til 8:00 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive, San Antonio, Tx., with services on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. at the Mission Park location. Burial to follow immediately at Locke Hill Cemetery at the corner of Huebner and Fredericksburg Roads with a reception following at the Fellowship Hall of Oxford United Methodist Church at the corner of Southwell and Huebner Roads.
