GOUDGE
Patricia (Patsy) A. Goudge was born on November 11, 1927 and passed away peacefully on March 7, 2014. She was born to George and Lena Wenglein in Ukiah, California and was the youngest of seven children. Her parents emigrated from Switzerland in the early 1900's in search of the American Dream, which they realized through hard work and perseverance. Patsy married Don Goudge in Ukiah more than 63 years ago and together they raised four children. She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother. When not busy with her husband and children, she was an active volunteer. One of her favorite volunteer activities was at the Methodist Hospital where she started as a Bluebird the day the hospital opened in 1963. She served there every Friday for over 30 years. She was a dedicated volunteer with the Thursday Lunch Bunch at the Alamo Heights United Methodist Church, starting out as a volunteer in the kitchen and eventually becoming responsible for purchasing the food and planning the meals. Patsy also volunteered with the Christian Assistance Ministry for many years as well as numerous PTOs, Boy and Girl Scout troops, and many other school organizations and activities in support of her children. She was a kind and caring person who always advocated for the underdog. So much so, she would always buy the worst looking Christmas tree on the lot in order to give it a home. She loved gardening, attending any activity her children or grandchildren were participating in, baking delicious cookies and pies, cooking awesome breakfasts for her grandchildren and spending time with her family at their lake house. But the one thing she loved the most was spending time with her wonderful husband. She is survived by husband - Don, daughter - Cheri (Bill) Snyder; sons - Jimmy (Suzanne) Goudge and Bobby (Julie) Goudge; grandchildren - Lara, Ashley (Jay), Sara (Jeff), Carrie (Nick), Cy, Kate (fiancé Kobi), Robert (Marley), Elliott (Katelyn), Cheston and Turner; great grandchildren - James, Joshua, Charlotte, Evan and Ethan; sister-Alice Southerland; in-laws - Phyllis Wenglein, Jeanne (Lee) Snow and Fred (Rogene) Goudge and Jim Goudge. Preceded in death by - son John, parents George and Lena, sisters Hulda Weger, Georgia Luby, Martha Wenglein and Rhea Lathrop, and brother, George Wenglein.
