PILGRIM
Floyd Edison Pilgrim, born on March 9, 1925 went to be with the Lord on March 6, 2014 at the age of 88. He is preceded in death by his daughter Rosanne Willis, grandson Rocky, sisters Alice Lee, Ethel Kirby, Martha Palmer and Estel Grant and brothers Earl and Clyde Pilgrim. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Georgia Kana Pilgrim, daughter; Susan Lucas (Kenneth), son; Charles Pilgrim (Donna), sister-in-law; Dorothy Oliver, grandchildren; Amber (Paul), Kevin (Kimberly), Laura (Anthony), Katherine (Brandon), Matthew (Audra), and Cody, great-grandchildren; William, Robert, Chelsea (Derek), Ryan (Natalie), Hayden, Charlee, Calina, and Christian, great-great-grandchildren; Ariel, Keegan, and one on the way. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe and fought in World War II and in the Korean War. He landed in Normandy, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and helped liberate Dauchau. He was a lifetime member of the VFW post in Poteet and the oldest member of the American Legion Post in Somerset.
SERVICES
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Somerset, TX. Interment will be followed at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10:45 a.m.
